Some updates:

TRIVIA: I continue to host Reel Fun Movie Trivia at Alamo Drafthouse Indianapolis on the first and third Sunday of every month. All original questions. Prizes include movie passes, food coupons, and movie swag. Come alone or with a team. I’ll also be returning teaching games and running trivia at WhosYerCon, one of my favorite events of the year. And while it’s only open to students and staff, I’ll share that I’m hosting trivia every Thursday night at Butler University (helped by Kevin Cole on days when I am out of town). PLAY WRITING/PRODUCING: SiteLines Indy/Two First Names Productions had another sold-out run of “Going Solo or Another Song That Isn’t About Danny Koppell,” my collaboration with singer/songwriter Cara Jean Wahlers, at the Chatterbox Jazz Club on Aug. 30. Other projects percolating that I hope I can announce soon. I’m working on a new piece and will have a private reading of that in September, but there’s no telling how long its evolution. Inquiries are most welcome from potential productions about my other plays. You can find most of them on the New Play Exchange. If you don’t have access there, feel free to jot me a note. MORE PRODUCING: Indy Actors’ Playground is on hiatus until November, but will return on the second Wednesday of the month at Indy Reads bookstore. That will mark our 126th reading Check out the Indy Actors’ Playground Facebook page for updates and info. Oh, and Going…Going…Gone: the Live Auction Comedy will be back for one night at the IF Theatre on Oct. 10.

JOURNALISM: In addition to postings here at louharry.com, I also contribute to the national site Theatrecriticism.com and elsewhere when the stars align. I’m currently serving as vice president of the executive committee for the American Theatre Critics Association where I also serve on it’s New Play Committee and Conference Committee. My preview of the Indianapolis theater season is coming up soon at MirrorIndy.com, which I also recently wrote my annual piece on the best non-intimidating games of Gen Con. I continue to write periodically for Midwest Film Journal. My latest is a piece on John Woo’s Red Cliff. I am also happy to contribute travel pieces to Indianapolis Monthly magazine. The latest took me to to Grand Rapids for ArtPrize and the Meijer Gardens. That piece is in the September issue. Wish I could get back there again for ArtPrize. My full time job remains at the national office of the Society of Professional Journalists, where I edit Quill magazine and manage SPJ’s awards programs for student and professional journalists.

GAME HOSTING: For more than three years, I’ve been hosting Game Night Social at the Garage Food Hall in Indianapolis every Tuesday from 6-9. I rotate a selection of about 75 games for folks to borrow and play and am happy to teach just about any of them. I’ll also be teaching games at the aforementioned InConjunction convention as well as at WhosYerCon in September. I’m also available to host game events for fundraisers and private events.
